1. Students with the required GPA of 3.75 on
a 5.0 scale are identified.
2. Students who are eligible scholastically are notified,
and told that for further
consideration for selection to the
NHS Chapter they may complete the Student
Activity Information Form. This
is NOT an application. The information can be
used by the Faculty Council to assist
with the selection process.
3. Faculty members who teach the students are asked to
complete a character rating
form. The ratings are numerical
from 1 to 10 with 10 being the highest rate. The
ratings are tallied and averaged.
4. The Faculty Council reviews the Student Activity Information
Form and the
character rating
average for each student, along with any other verifiable
information
about each
candidate's leadership, service, and character.
5. Candidates with outstanding leadership, service, and
character who receive a
majority vote on the Faculty Council
are inducted into the chapter.
6. Parents of those students selected are notified of
their selection and are invited to
the Induction Ceremony and reception
following.
7. Inductees are given information regarding the obligations
of membership.
