Graduation Information
  
DRESS 

Proper dress is a requirement for taking part in all academic assemblies -- Honors Day and Graduation.  Nothing is to be worn on the cap except the tassel or on the gown except cords issued by the Administration. NO badges, pins, jewelry, flowers, etc.  Articles such as flowers, purses, books etc. may not be carried.  Graduation programs will be placed in the seats prior to the graduation program.  In addition to the cap and gown, the following dress is required: 
 

LADIES: 
You must wear a straight, dark blue or black dress or dark skirt and blouse with no fabric showing at the neck of the gown.  This will achieve a V-neck appearance with the collar.  The skirt length must be below the knee but shorter than the gown.  A white collar comes with the cap and gown and MUST be pinned or sewn to the gown before coming to the exercises.  Natural colored hose should be worn and shoes should be black dress shoes; heel height is your choice, but no spiked heels.
GENTLEMEN: 
You must wear a white dress shirt and plain, dark tie (dark blue or black).  Bow ties are not permitted.  Also, dark trousers (dark blue or black), dark socks and dark shoes are required.  Shoes should be black or very dark brown and may be penny loafers or dress shoes.  Jackets are not required.
CAP: 
The cap for men and women is to be worn over the forehead so that the mortarboard is levelIt is not to be cocked to one side or placed on the back of the head.  The front of the cap is indicated on the inside of the crown.  Boys are to remove caps during the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, the National Anthem, and the Alma Mater.
TASSELS: 
Tassles are to be worn on the right front of the cap and are not to be switched at graduation.  They are switched when a Bachelor's Degree is earned.
