Executive Summary
Introduction:
North Augusta High School’s School Improvement Plan includes an
overview of student performance data, demographic data about the
students and their community, school characteristics, and the
perspectives of the stakeholders on the quality of education.
Over the past ten years, North Augusta High School has had five
different principals. The current administration, including three new
assistant principals, started in the 2001-2002 school year. As a
result of these changes, our school has not undergone a SACS
self-evaluation study since the 1995-1996 school year. Despite the
obvious challenges that result from so many changes, North Augusta
High School has continued to strive for excellence in student
learning.
The International Baccalaureate (IB) program has been added, and
the Advanced Placement (AP) program has been expanded to include more
students. Many teachers have participated in special training to
upgrade their teaching skills in order to meet the educational needs
of the students in these courses. Implementation and expansion of
these programs have raised the school’s level of expectation for all
students, not just IB and AP students.
